Lauren Peterson

Lauren Peterson serves as Brand Specialist at BTYcreative where she creates brand campaign messaging plans and develops their central brand message in order to best communicate that message with the audience. In other words, she brings your brand message to life with colorful description and meaning.

She earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Communication Arts at the University of the Incarnate Word and was very involved in the school’s communication department. She wrote for her school newspaper, The LOGOS, all four years of her undergraduate career where she was able to interview students and faculty and bring their stories to life for the school to read. During her junior year of college, Lauren hosted a radio segment on KUIW every Friday, choosing popular indy-rock songs and taking requests via Twitter. Lastly, in the Communication Arts department, she was chosen to be on-air talent for UIW TV where she reported live to the school on topics of life, community, and sports. Lauren also swam for four years at UIW and was team captain during her senior year.

Writing is her best asset and outlet. She has had numerous internships with PR companies and blogs around San Antonio, and her work is published on various blog sites highlighting San Antonio’s most popular spots. Lauren also worked at the San Antonio Express News in the Sports Department where she learned the behind-the-scenes work that goes into creating our daily newspapers, specifically with high school sports information. This interest in sports writing lead her to a graduate assistant position at UIW in the Sports Information Department where she recorded statistics of all sports games to be uploaded to the school website, interviewed coaches and players after games, and wrote before and after game reviews.

As a native Arizonan, Lauren loves all things desert, mountain, and cacti. She is an advocate for traveling, an amateur food critic, a workout junkie, and a believer in writing every day. As a side-gig she also teaches indoor cycling at JoyRide Cycling Studio.
